Quickstart Guide Juice
Welcome to the Quickstart Guide to Podcast Listening with Juice!
Learn how to get started with listening to podcasts with Juice.
- Download the software
- Browse for podcasts in the podcast directory
- Subscribe and download podcasts
- Move your podcasts to your favorite player
First you will need software that enables you to Subscribe to podcasts.
Go download Juice (Win and OS/X).
After downloading it, the software will automatically start-up the installation-software.
(If not, run Juice.exe in Windows)
2 - Browse for podcasts in the podcast directory
Juice has its own podcast directory.
- After opening Juice, click on ‘Podcast directory’ on top of the screen. Now there are different dossiers.
- Double click on the file ‘Podcast Alley Top 50’ for example. Now you can see all files in this category. Now double click on the file called ‘Nobody likes onions’ (for example).
- The next thing you see is a popup in your browser: 'Add a feed'. It shows the url to ‘Nobody likes onions’. Next, click on 'Save'.
- There is an option to add other podcast feeds to Juice as well, in case you find some interesting podcasts some place on the internet.
- Click on the RSS feed and copy the xml link to ‘Podcast directory’ at the free space next to ‘Add’. (Or click the green button with 'Subscriptions')
3 – Subscribe and download podcasts
Now you saved the xml link, go to the section called ‘Subscriptions’. It says you subscribed to ‘Nobody likes onions’. After you click on it, all the existing episodes will appear in the bottom screen. You can read the show notes of every episode by clicking on the right mouse button. Select the shows you want to download and click on the button with the blue arrow (check/download selected feed) on top of the screen.
At the section called ‘Downloads’ the shows you have selected appear. This way you can check the selected episodes are being downloaded. To get the newest episodes of your subscribed podcasts click ‘Subscriptions’ and the green button with the arrows (Check for new podcasts).
4 - Move your podcasts to your favorite player
Once your download is finished it is ready to listen to.
Go to 'File' on top of your screen then select ‘Preferences’. Go to ‘Player’ and choose a player to play your podcast in. Save your settings and return to your downloads. Click on the green arrow on the left of your downloaded podcast.
In case you also run iTunes it is possible to get your podcasts in de iTunes library by selecting iTunes as player.
